President, Maryann Meade
Maryann Meade is mom to Kate who was born prematurely with developmental and physical challenges. Maryann’s career in advocacy was also born at that time. She has served as an advocate at Newington Children’s Hospital, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, The Brain Injury Association of CT, Parent to Parent of New England, Family Voices, Connecticut Birth to Three, Autism Speaks, the Connecticut Family Support Council and Special Olympics. Kate now enjoys a rich quality of life in her home and community with the help of her caregivers who are funded by the DDS Home and Community Based Waiver Program. Maryann is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University. She taught in Elementary school and now works in financial services.

Treasurer, Carl Noll
Carl Noll is the father of three sons who live with developmental disabilities: Eric, who is autistic; Daryl, who has a learning disability; and Robert, who is visually impaired. Carl has served as council member and officer of The Noroton School Parents Group (now Cooperative Educational Services in Bridgeport,) the Parents Group at the Connecticut Institute for the Blind - Oak Hill and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Trumbull. For five years Carl served as treasurer of the Slovak Zion Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Carl earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration from Sacred Heart University. He is now retired from a 45-year career in engineering at Automatic Signal, Bristol Babcock, Norden Systems and Sikorsky Aircraft.

Secretary, Bruce Garrison
Bruce Garrison is step-father to Melissa, an adult who receives support services from the DDS Home and Community Based Waiver. Bruce advocates for person-centered community delivered support services that promote full inclusion for all. He has been an advocate for students with special educational needs and persons receiving mental health services for thirty years. He has attended hundreds of planning and placement team meetings, hearings and other legal proceedings on behalf of persons with disabilities. Bruce has a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Connecticut. He has served on various non-profit boards and was the founder and Executive Director of Northeast Placement Services.

Executive Director, Walter Glomb
Walter Glomb is dad to Nick, an adult who lives with Down syndrome and receives individualized supported employment services from DDS. For more than two decades Walt has advocated for the full inclusion of Nick in school and community. He has served as president and as a director of the Connecticut Down Syndrome Congress and on numerous state boards, councils and committees. Walt earned his Bachelor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Master of Science from Colorado State University. He brings 30 years of business management experience in varied organizations from technology businesses to social service providers and all phases of business growth, including grant writing, start-up, strategic planning, program management, P&L, marketing and general management.
